In February 1963, Bob Dylan and his girlfriend, Suze Rotolo, walked these very streets of Greenwich Village, captured in a now-iconic photo for the cover of The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan. My new tour, Bob Dylan’s Greenwich Village, brings that moment to life, offering a chance to recreate this legendary image yourself.

But that’s just the beginning. You’ll visit the club where Dylan played on his first night in New York, his first apartment, and the hotel where he lived with fellow folk legend Joan Baez—all locations featured in the film A Complete Unknown.

Welcome to the Hotel Chelsea’s magnificent Lobby Bar, a cocktail lounge with sordid tales to tell. (Bob Dylan also lived here after arriving in Manhattan!) This legendary 12-story spot, which first opened its doors in 1883, was the tallest building in New York City at the time. More than 140 years later, it remains a trendy gathering place, even making appearances in past seasons of Saturday Night Live’s opening credits.
